As we are completing 25years, I remember my young days as I just completed my post graduation and Mr. Joaquim D’Cruz contacted me with this idea of starting a financial institution, We conducted lot of meetings with known persons at Shiroda to arrange funds and members to register the Co-Operative Society, In a continuous discussion and we finally organized the funds and members and applied to register the Co-Operative Society and on receipt of approval we have opened the first branch at Shenviwada Shiroda with one cupboard, one table and 1 staff and after one year we have shifted to a rented premises behind the Panchayat building at Bhatim, Shiroda and then we were allotted shop in the same building facing to the highway where in we found opportunity to grow business. I was appointed as a Secretary and I worked for 23 years and now as a Chairman.

We were facing lot of space constraints at Bhatim branch for day-to-day functioning especially for holding board meetings as the area is approx 18 sq.mtrs. We managed within that area for more than 22 years. Subsequently, The Shiroda Progressive has opened 9 more branches in south Goa and we are growing in the right direction. Today we have reached to this height because of our tireless efforts, unity among the board members, trained staffs /pigmy agents, and continual support from the members and well- wishers.
